Data Coverage For Web Correction
Web correction is only available for land surfaces that lay between 60 degrees north latitude and 54 degrees south latitude.  It will not work for any areas shaded red in the image below.

My Tracks Functions


Correct Button (My Tracks)

Use the "Correct" to correct the altitude in a track with web retrieved elevation values for each latitude and longitude value in the track. When you press the button a list of your My Tracks tracks will be shown. Tap the one you want to correct. The application will then copy your track into a new track and then query an internet database for the corrected altitude. The track will not be saved back to My Tracks unless you press the "Save to My Tracks" button. See the preferences section for "My Tracks Name Suffix" and "My Tracks Activity Suffix" for how tracks will be named.

Offset Button
(My Tracks) 
Use the "Offset" to change the value of each point in the track with a constant value you specify. When you press button the application will ask you for an amount to offset the track. Enter a +/- number. Next a list of your My Tracks tracks will be shown. Tap the one you want to offset. The application will then shift the track. The track's altitude will be shifted up or down by the number you enter. The track will not be saved back to My Tracks unless you press the "Save to My Tracks" button. See the preferences section for "My Tracks Name Suffix" and "My Tracks Activity Suffix" for how tracks will be named.

User Scale Button
(My Tracks) 
Use the "Scale" to multiply the value of each point in the track with a constant value you specify. When you press button the application will ask you for an amount to scale the track. Enter a number. Next a list of your My Tracks tracks will be shown. Tap the one you want to scale. The application will then scale the track. The track's altitude will be multiplied by the number you enter. The track will not be saved back to My Tracks unless you press the "Save to My Tracks" button. See the preferences section for "My Tracks Name Suffix" and "My Tracks Activity Suffix" for how tracks will be named.

GPX File Functions

Correct Button (GPX File)

Use the "Web Correct" button to correct the altitude in a GPX file

When you press the button a file browser will be shown. Navigate to the file you want to correct and then tap the file you want to correct. The application will then query an internet database for the corrected altitude and save the results to the same directory as a different file name. (GPX File)

Result Choices

See a Before/After Chart
Use this button to see a before and after line chart of the results.


Save Track to My Tracks
Use this button to save the new track to My Tracks.  The application does not save to My Tracks unless you press this button.

Preferences
Select Units
Use this to select Feet/Miles or Meters/Kilometers as your units.

Chart Filtering
This will change how the charts are smoothed. A higher sample value will result in more smoothing of the chart plot. This setting does not change how the data is stored to tracks and files.

Default GPX File Directory
This will set the directory that the file browser opens when you correct or shift a GPX file. It's default is /sdcard.

My Tracks Name Suffix
This is the suffix that will be added to corrected or shifted tracks and GPX files when they are saved. The default value is "(Copy)".

My Tracks Activity Suffix
This is the suffix that will be added to corrected ans shifted My Tracks tracks. The default value is "(Altitude Corrected)". This setting is useful when uploading tracks from My Tracks to Google documents. The My Tracks upload process will create documents for each activity type you upload.
